I finally get the marathoning.

I never could understand how people can marathon shows. It never made any sense to me. I finally get it!

I've recently become very hooked on J-Dramas. I was first introduced to them in 2002. I liked them but I never really did much about it. In 2004, I watched a couple more. Again, I liked them. I even went so far as buying one on DVD. Of course, no English subs so I still don't know what they're saying but that's okay. This J-Drama holds a special place in my heart for totally different reasons that would take a whole other blog.

Well, once I found out Zettai Kareshi (Absolute Boyfriend) was available for dling, my dls couldn't go fast enough. But I got into it about 3 weeks along so there weren't that many to watch. After I watch each one, I turn around and watch it again. I like it that much! Plus I know I have to wait a whole other week for the next one to come out.

Since Soshi is my favorite character, I researched his actor online to find out what else he's done. That's right! I started dling one of them immediately. It's called Hanazakari no kimi tachi e (Hana-Kimi). OMG! I LOVE this series!!! The entire thing was available for dl - a total of 11 hour long episodes and the 12th is a 2 hour conclusion. I watched 4 episodes a day this weekend. That's 4 hours of me sitting in front of the tv set reading subtitles! Totally unheard of! But I found myself understanding everything better probably because I'm looking at actual people's mouths so I know who's talking at a glance. In some cases when I missed the subs, I didn't have to back it up to see what they said. I got it from the actors movements - something I can't do watching an anime.

Does this mean I'm getting turned off on anime since I haven't watched any this entire weekend? No! I'm just really happy to not only be watching anime. As far as the regular shows on cable go, there's not much that I like and watch. I love that most J-Dramas are short. It's a big plus in my book. I could never stomach watching American soaps. ICK! I think a week passes by in the story every year in real time. So not for me!

But the J-Dramas have quite another perk for me. Real live BISHIES!!! ^.^ Why were guys never that beautiful when I was in high school? They were all geeky looking. *le sigh*
