Inuyasha's Final Act
last modified: Saturday, January 30, 2010 (5:24:52 PM CST)
So this final series for Inuyasha came out in October but I'm just now starting to watch it. I delayed because I wanted to rewatch the original series first. It had been a while and from what I'd heard it picked up immediately from the last episode. That was definitely true. I'm so glad I rewatched the series or else I'd been sitting there going wha? ^.^

I am amazed by how fast this series appears to be going. I'll admit I only read a bit and piece here and there in the manga. Shounen and action type series aren't ones that tend to get me to read them. Action needs movement, which equals anime only for me. I know others feel differently and that's fine. I just can't stay entertained with action-type mangas but as I stated I have read some bits of Inuyasha.

The first two episodes rocked. Someone died in each. The first episode I screamed, "Yes!" In the second episode, I cried. WOW! I knew all about that death and I still cried. Well, I always did like that character. But sadly, I managed to make my way to the third episode - a total snooze-fest. I hate Shippo. I always have and always will. So any episode revolving around him is torture. Hey, they can't all be about my favorite characters so I move on.

A while ago, I guessed that the number of episodes should be 26 to end the series. Others were hoping for 52+. I just heard the official announcement of 26. YAY! Because now being halfway through the episodes, it really should wrap up soon.

Now, don't get me wrong. I like Inuyasha. I even collect from the cel episodes of Inuyasha. Yes, I have one CG episode sketch set that I love. The rest I've either sold or am in the process of doing so. (I prefer plastic or paper.) But as far as this final act, I'm undecided. I kind of wish it was a final movie or a trilogy of movies. They seem to be cutting a lot of fat out from the manga but it doesn't quite have the same feel. I'm beginning to think rewatching the original before the final might have been a bad idea now. Oh well, at least they held true and are completing the series. For that, I'm truly thankful! ^_^

Anyone else undecided? Or do y'all have strong feelings one way or the other? You know I love hearing all points of view.
